1. Commitment

ANIMOU SAS, registered with the Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register under number 101 984 730, with its registered office at 457 route du Médoc, 33520 Bruges, is committed to respecting the privacy of its users.

No data is sold, monetized, or exploited for commercial purposes.

2. Data Collected

Depending on app usage:

  • account data (email, username),

  • location data: real-time position when creating a report, and areas of interest configured by the user in their settings,

  • photos and descriptions of animals,

  • messages exchanged,

  • technical data (logs, security).


3. Purpose

Data is used solely for:

  • enabling reports,

  • sending relevant alerts,

  • facilitating connections between users,

  • ensuring security and moderation.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR):

  • Account data: user consent (Art. 6.1.a)

  • Geolocation: explicit consent (Art. 6.1.a), revocable at any time

  • Messages and reports: contract performance (Art. 6.1.b)

  • Security and moderation logs: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f)


4. Data Retention

  • active listings: retained for their validity period, then 30 days before permanent deletion,

  • inactive accounts: deleted after 24 months without login, with prior notification,

  • moderation and security logs: 12 months from the event,

  • data deleted upon request: effective erasure within 30 days.


5. Data Sharing

Data is never resold.

It may be accessible to:

  • the Animou team,

  • strictly necessary technical service providers (hosting, transactional emails, analytics).

These providers are bound by contractual confidentiality obligations and may only use the data for the defined purposes.


6. Security

Animou implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data.


7. User Rights

In accordance with the GDPR, each user has:

  • the right to access their data,

  • the right to rectification,

  • the right to erasure (right to be forgotten),

  • the right to object,

  • the right to data portability,

  • the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal.

8. Updates

This policy may evolve.

Users will be informed of any significant changes.


9. Applicable Law

This privacy policy is governed by French law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU 2016/679). In case of dispute, the competent courts shall be those of Bordeaux.
